Koffee with Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez in LGBT music video

Sam Smith feat Koffee and Jessie Reyez Gimmie

Young Jamaican singer Koffee is making news this week by featuring on British pop artist Sam Smith's new single. The track titled Gimme also features Canadian singer Jessie Reyez.

The three artists are reunited in a hyper sensual clip, like the lyrics, it being understood that Sam Smith has already openly expressed himself on his non-binarity.

The title is produced by talented hitmakers: the Jamaican Anju Blaxx (known for having worked with Vybz Kartel , Popcaan, Damian Marley), the Norwegians from Stargate and the Englishman Jimmy Napes. It is taken from Sam Smith's album Gloria to be released on January 27th.

Musically, we move away from reggae for a more dancehall R'n'B beat.

Even if mentalities are changing in Jamaica little by little, there is no doubt that this appearance of Koffee will give rise to hateful comments from part of the public on the island... On our side, we support the artist and his freedom of expression.

We remember the real earthquake caused by the Jamaican artist Spice when announcing his performance at the LGBT Pride Toronto festival last year. As a reminder, in Jamaica, homosexual acts between men are criminally punished and LGBT rights are still very limited...

After "Unholy", Sam Smith wants to sign a new hit with "Gimme"

Sam Smith has been a hit in recent months with the hit "Unholy", in duet with Kim Petras. Just before the release of his fourth album "Gloria", the artist presents his new single ready to raise the temperature: "Gimme", in feat with Koffee and Jessie Reyez.

Two more weeks to wait for Sam Smith. On January 27, the British artist will present his fourth album "Gloria" , two years after "Love Goes" . If the identity of this mysterious “Gloria” remains unknown, the English star explains that the album made him go through a whole spectrum of emotions: “ It was an emotional, sexual and spiritual liberation at the same time. It was beautiful, with this album, to sing freely again. Strangely, I have the impression that this is my very first album. And it's like coming of age ." There will be 13 tracks including a duet with Ed Sheeran ("Who We Love"), the single "with Kim Petras, one of the biggest hits of recent months. The sulphurous song even allowed Sam Smith and Kim Petras to be the first non-binary and transgender artists to rank number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

Voyeurs are watching us

A few months after this surge, Sam Smith hopes to land another hit with his new single "Gimme". A title they share with Jamaican singer Koffee and Canadian artist Jessie Reyez. A smooth and rhythmic title, with afrobeat tones, which proves the fierce turn taken by Sam Smith on this new project, with lyrics more mischievous than ever: " Voyeurs are watching us / Giving me such a rush / When I'm crazy and gone, gone, love / Give me what I want, give me what I want ”. And Sam Smith says it clearly in a press release: “ I am a sexual person, I like sex. It's something I'm learning not to be ashamed of ."

The English artist also recounts the birth of the title, on the other side of the world: " Jessie and I were totally drunk, drinking whiskey in Jamaica, at two in the morning, running, totally torn, like two best friends laughing
