Biopic Bob Marley's Movie 2024 "One Love" the teaser

Bob Marley Movie 2024

The trailer for the film Bob Marley, One Love, constituting a biopic on Bob Marley, was massively unveiled yesterday. The film about the life of the King of Reggae will be released in cinemas on January 12, 2024. Here is the teaser trailer:

The filming of Bob Marley One Love was completed in March in Jamaica. The film crew shot the last scenes in Kingston, in Trench Town in particular, where Bob Marley grew up but also where rocksteady and reggae were born. Starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob, this film is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who co-wrote the screenplay with Zach Baylin.

Its story takes place from 1976 to 1978, and largely covers the creation of the album Exodus, released in 1977. 1976 is the year in which Bob Marley suffered an assassination attempt at his home in Kingston, after which he participated at the Smile Jamaica Concert and fled to England for several months.

It was in London that he then recorded Exodus. The film deals with this whole period, until Bob's triumphant return to Jamaica in 1978 for the One Love Peace Concert at the National Stadium. Political leaders of the time Michael Manley and Edward Seaga therefore feature in the film, as do gang leaders Aston 'Bucky' Marshall and Claudius Massop.

As a reminder Exodus includes the titles Natural Mystic, So Much Things to Say, Guiltiness, The Heathen, Exodus, Jamming, Waiting in Vain, Turn Your Lights Down Low, Three Little Birds, as well as the title considered his greatest hit, One Love. This song is considered one of Bob Marley's most popular and beloved songs around the world. It is not surprising to find it in the title of the film.
