Jah Cure | Reggae Artist from Jamaica

Jah Cure | Reggae Artist

Jah Cure aka Siccature Alcock was born in 11 October 1978 in Montego Bay in Jamaica but spent his youth in Kingston.
He's a reggae singer.
He takes his love for music from his father who was a singer, but also of the effervescence of music that prevails in the capital. In Kingston, he met Sizzla and Capleton.

It is this last and members of David House gave it the name of Jah Cure. In 1997, the singer improvises a song with Sizzla (who became "King In The Jungle") in the latter's car. Once arrived at the studio, Jah Cure, who repeats his verse in a corner, was spotted by the singer-producer Beres Hammond.

An encounter that will change his career, but delayed. The producer, if he gives an appointment is not too busy time for the young singer. It was only later that it will be crucial. In 1998, an event interrupted his career. He was arrested for rape under the threat of a firearm and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

This does not stop Jah Cure to continue to proclaim his innocence.

He says the mother of the victim and the officer in charge of the case know, and that the appointed lawyer is so competent that he had to himself to wake the trial day by throwing rocks against his window.

Many people think when his career ended, the singer buried. This is not Jah Cure is behind bars, but other people involved in his career.

In 2000 released his first album, "Free Jah Cure", which brings together several of her singles recorded so far. Jah Cure also receives support from many artists: Sizzla, Capleton, Jah Mason, or Buju Banton (who even paid his lawyer) and multiply the homage regularly seek the release of the singer through their texts or their statements. In 2003, Beres Hammond riddims composes and produces the highly anticipated "Ghetto Life".

More advanced than its previous album, "Ghetto Life " is a must, where we find the title track Ghetto Life but also his duet with Sizzla and Jah Mason (King In The Jungle Run Come Love Me).

In prison, Jah Cure has permission to receive a small studio that allows him to record.
This privilege allowed him to remain very active and chain of hits despite the captivity Jamaica on the Sunshine riddim, Goog Morning, Jah Jah riddim, I swear on or Longing For the drop leaf riddim, which remained for many weeks on the charts in Jamaica.

Despite a lack of promotion (no tour, no interviews), Jah Cure continues in the minds of people. Released July 28, 2007, Jah Cure was released from prison after eight years behind bars, he who had been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

But where the prison has cut short the artistic impulse of some singers, the bars seem to have been beneficial to his career. With three albums all came out during his incarceration, and support ever more important every time, Jah Cure was released from prison became famous there.

Driven by a passion that few artists have known (witness the unbelievable display of Curefest, organized to commemorate his new release), Jah Cure is now at the dawn of a new career.
